1.             What are your qualifications? Are you a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI) or the National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers (NABIE)?

 

2.             How many inspections of properties such as this do you do each year?

 

3.             Do you carry professional errors and omission insurance? Please provide a copy of the policy.

 

4.             Do you provide any written guarantees of your work? If so, please provide a copy.

 

5.             What specifically will the inspection cover? What does it not cover?

 

6.             What type of report will I receive after the inspection?

 

7.             How long will it take to receive the report?

 

8.             How long will the inspection take?

 

9.             How much will the inspection cost?

 

10.        Can I call you, without charge, for further consultation/information?

Note: Beginning September 1, 2009, all Home Inspectors working in this state are required to be licensed by the State of Washington. Licensing requirements include 120 hours of classroom instruction, 40 hours of field training and a passing score on the written state exam. Home Inspectors with at least 2 years experience and at least 100 home inspections conducted before the new licensing requirement were instituted, were exempted from the training requirements, provided they passed the written exam.
